Possibilities thermal utilization of solid char from pyrolysis of municipal solid waste
Original language description
Research of the influence of humidity on the quality of solid char during pyrolysis has shown that, Cd and Hg in the char are contained in lower concentration than in the feed. During the pyrolysis process, it is transferred to the gaseous or liquid phase. For Cr and Ni, about 2.5 increase in the concentration in solid char was proven compared with the feedstock, for As there was a four-fold increase in the concentration, and the highest increase in the concentration was observed for Pb (8.5 x). These results show that solid char from the pyrolysis MSW can be used as fuel of Class III according to ČSN EN 15359. The contents of selected risk elements can be controlled by adjusting the moisture content of the feedstock.
