    INVESTIGATING THE INFLUENCE OF CUTTING SPEED ON THE TOOL LIFE OF CUTTING INSERT IN CUTTING THE DIN 1.4301 STEEL

    The main aim of the authors paper is to assess the investigating of tool life T = f (vc) in dry turning of the 1.4301 austenitic stainless steel with the CNMG 120408 coated carbide cutting insert. Experimental tests of selected material were realized in the CNC machine tool Aero Turn BT-380 with Fanuc 21i TB control system. The effect of applied cutting parameters on the surface finish, tool wear, tool life and surface roughness were investigated during the realized experiments. The aim of the present paper is to focus scientific research on the impact of the various applied values of cutting speeds in the outer longitudinal turning. All presented approach and results will be helpful in understanding the machinability of 1.4301austenitic stainless steel during the dry turning. This paper, together with the achieved results is a basis that will optimize the performance of machining (turning) of the austenitic stainless steel 1.4301 used for special industrial applications with their dominant functional areas.
