IMPACT OF THE PARTICLE SIZE OF INPUT MATERIAL TO YIELD ON THERMAL DEGRADATION OF ORGANIC FUELS
Original language description
The aim of this article is assess the impact of changes in particle size on the production yield during thermal degradation – pyrolysis process. For the purpose of this research was selected the energy grass - black bent grass (Agrostis gigantea). The input material has been tested in four different granulometric fractions - original unadjusted material, crushed material, and also in the form of two kinds of pellets with different size. For pellets were determined the basic mechanical-physical properties – mechanical durability, wettability index and hardness. The experiments were performed in a batch dosing reactor at the process temperature 500°C. The results show that highest conversion rate of input material into the final products of the pyrolysis process was achieved by using the standard pellets. The achieved outputs are used for research of input materials pretreatment and for optimization of process parameters of thermal degradation during the energy utilization of grass biomass.
