Modeling and dynamic analysis of proportional directional valve

  • Original language description

This article deals with numerical simulation and experimental measurement of the proportional directional valve frequency responses. The proportional directional valve dynamic properties can be described using the frequency responses. The frequency responses are measured at zero flow rate through the proportional directional valve. The spool position and input control signal are measured to determine the frequency responses of the proportional directional valve. Then the measured data are converted to the computer. The magnitude responses and the phase responses are determined from the measured data. The mathematical model of the proportional directional valve is created using Matlab SimScape Fluids software. The individual blocks are included in the SimScape Fluids library. The mathematical model includes the influence of the inertia force, the friction force, the spring force and the linear motor force in the proportional directional valve. The spring stiffness and the spool position depending on input voltage were performed due to the correct setting of the valve mathematical model. The mathematically simulated and the experimentally determined frequency responses are compared. (C) 2019 Author(s).
