During a reconstruction of a 30-years-old AC and DC dynamometer the complete technology became a GPIB instrument that can be controlled and monitored remotely. The collected data are integrated into a remote HMI application that already communicates viaGPIB with several other instruments (e.g. torque measuring instrument). The system uses LabVIEW™ as user interface and communication processor. LabVIEW sends and receives raw data to and from a PLC through VISA library and at the same time enablesthe connected system to read status messages and measurement results.
