Modern Approaches to Indexing XML Data
Original language description
The language XML is possible to view as a new language for data modelling. XML databases arise as a new type of storage model for structured data. However, the demands on XML databases differ from those on conventional databases. Specific XML retrieval models must be designed # suited for the structured character of XML data. The need of effective querying XML data therefore requires new approaches to indexing XML. The final intention is a development of content management systems or native XML databases. This paper shows several index structures and approaches for indexing XML data which have been developed in last years in order to address the problem.
