The paper deals with the development and practical testing of a sterophotogrammetric method that is suitable for carrying out the measurements in areas that are dangerous for human beings. The stereophotogrammetric images are taken either from a pair ofconventional digital cameras or from a pair of industrial cameras that are carried on a remotely controlled crawler vehicle that was developed and built for this purpose. For calibrating the stereo camera pair and for measuring in the scene, our own software was created.
