Solving of an Electric Arc Motion in a Vacuum Interrupter
Original language description
The vacuum interrupter is one of the main switching elements in a high voltage distribution networks today. Main advantage of vacuum interrupter is in very easy construction, long working life and operational reliability. An idea of vacuum breaking is relatively old. The first experiments have started about 80 years ago, but there were problems with joining tight and contact materials deaeration mainly. So the first types of vacuum interrupters have been able to work from 6th decade of 20th century. Thepaper deals with optimal shape of contact of vacuum interrupter in the system of rotating arc-quenching (RMF-Radial Magnetic Field) by the help of FEM and software ANSYS.
