    Accumulation of electric energy using fuel cells and other technologies

  • Original language description

    This paper deals with technologies for accumulation of electric energy. Great attention is paid mainly to systems, which can be used within the electric power system and in connection with non-controllable renewable sources of electric power. There are both descriptions of systems enabling to provide high charging and discharging performance for short period of time as well as systems with high accumulation capacity, which are able to accumulate and exchange electric power for several hours. The major part of the article deals with hydrogen technologies, which might be included into the accumulation system together with renewable electric power sources with rapidly growing popularity the Czech Republic ? the wind power plants. The conclusive part refers to the research in progress focused on the PEM type hydrogen fuel cells under laboratory conditions at VŠB - TU Ostrava.
