INCREASING OF MEDIUM VOLTAGE NETWORK SAFETY WITH USING MEDIUM VOLTAGE LABORATORY
Original language description
The analysis of operating and fault states of medium voltage electric power system is necessary for ensuring the reliable and safe operation of the given system. To understand the behaviour of the electric power system for various operating and fault states, a number of experiments are to be conducted. However, some experimental measurements, especially the simulation of fault states cannot be executed owing to a possible threat to reliable operation. For the simulation of such states, the Medium Voltage Laboratory, which is equipped with a physical model of MV power system, a climatic cabinet with the possibility of MV supply and a computing centre, was designed and built at VŠB ? Technical University of Ostrava. With using the MV Laboratory, any operating as well as fault state of the analysed electric power system can be simulated, the behaviour of individual components of electric power system can be tested at long-term stress imposed by degradation factors, and others.
