The Issue of Voltage Changes in Electricity Network in Relation to Operation of Wind Power Plants
Original language description
The renewable energy sources (wind power plants in particular), which have been currently promoted, cause operating problems in the distribution (and transmission) networks. Variable supply and consumption of electricity cause voltage fluctuations in thedistribution network, changes of short-circuit ratios), and also influence active losses which are reimbursed for by distribution companies. The influence of non-traditional sources of electric power on the distribution network is determined not only bytheir output, but also by the electrical distance of the source from the so called hard network, i.e. mostly from the supply point of the superior system. The issue of electrical distance is currently seen only in relation to short-circuit phenomena (short-circuit contributions of individual sources).
