The quality of graphical data display

The purpose of the paper is to show the new method of graphical data displaying. We chose an example of the real manufacturing process, which includes the data pertaining to available production sources. The subordinated items of production sources are depicted in a two-dimensional graph as colored dashes called gantts. To have the interaction with a user, gantts are accompanied with the description text giving detailed information about each gantt. All gantt descriptions must be displayed without overlapping with each other. To optimize this task, the modified version of the RBF neural network is applied. We compare the computation time of the neural network-based method with another presently used method. The measure of the quality of graphic data output consists in the computation time comparison for the same number of figured gantt descriptions.
