The subject of this paper is an exhibit of parallel and series active power filters and possibilities their control and applications. The control methods of the active power filters are described. The control methods have been implemented to DSP controlsystems and experimentally proved. Simulation and experimental results, which are showing the dynamic properties of active power filters, are presented. In the end of the paper there will be summarized the main advantages and the behavior of the active power filters.
