A database of failures in electrical power network is very important for the black-out prevention. This database makes it possible the reliability computation that is applied for the maintenance of equipments in power networks. It is necessary to apply asophisticated storage for an efficient querying of this data. In this paper, we apply a lossless R-tree compression using variable-length codes for the storage of failure data.
