Web Communities Defined by Web Page Content

  • Original language description

In this chapter, we are looking for a relationship between the intent of Web pages, their architecture and the communities who take part in their usage and creation. For us, the Web page is entity carrying information around these communities. Our chapter describes techniques which can be used to extract the mentioned information as well as tools usable in the analysis of this information. Information about communities could be used in several ways thanks to our approach. Finally, we present experimentswhich prove the feasibility of our approach. These experiments also show a possible way as to how to measure the similarity of Web pages and Web sites using microgenres. We define the microgenre as a building block of Web pages which is based on the social interaction.
