The paper deals with design and optimization of a converter for ultracapacitors with zero voltage switching (ZVS) utilization. The converter for ultracapacitors consists of two converters | buck converter and bidirectional half-bridge converter; both ofthem with ZVS. The converters with ZVS require a diferent design approach in comparison with common hard- switched converters. The paper provides an analysis of the stages during switching cycle of converters with ZVS as well.
