Parallelization of the total-FETI-1 algorithm for contact problems using PETSc

  • Original language description

This paper deals with analysis of three types of parallelization strategies for TFETI-1 algorithm for the solution of contact problems. The data distributions and the most relevant actions using PETSc functions are discussed. Presented numerical resultsconfirm high parallel scalability of solution of subdomain problems (Cholesky factorization of subdomain stiffness matrix and pseudoinverse matrix by vector multiplication) and also high level of parallel scalability of computation of distributed coarseproblem matrix having orthonormal rows. Another approaches suffer from high memory requirements and also from the lack of parallel scalability during coarse by coarse transpose matrix multiplication and factorization and projectors applications being soinapplicable for large scale problems.
