The main object of the work is creation of soft- ware to detect the number of steps from accelerometric data. To realize the work Matlab software, in which were processed accelerometer data, and then implemented an algorithm that detects and counts the steps performed, presumed length of the track, duration of movement, amount of energy used, Body Mass Index, motion profile and many other functions, was used. To obtain accelerometric data was used the wireless module which the ZigBee wireless module, 3-axis accelerometer MMA7455L, whose main specificity is a digital output, low power consumption, the possibility of calibration and filtering.
