Original language description
A team of researchers has promoted a project ?line? of developed project cars from an electric car, an electric car driven by the APU (auxiliary power unit) realized by a combustion engine and an electricity generator, an electric car driven by the APU realized by a hydrogen PEM fuel cell to an electric car with super capacitors accumulating en-ergy generated by a hydrogen fuel cell. Since 2009 to 2012 four vehicles have been constructed and introduced to the operational ready stage. These vehicles prototypes have been designated K0, K1, K2, and K3. Every vehicle has been equipped by a various drive. The KAIPAN VoltAge roadster is built on a standard chassis of the KAIPAN 14 with special modification for integration of electrical drive systems. Drive units in range from 3.5kW up to 24kW power rate have been realized by asynchronous electric motors. The vehicle is driven by a front axle.
