    Phasor Data Concentrator for Testing and Educational Purposes

    This paper describes realization of Phasor Data Concentrator (PDC) with basic functionality. The aim of this work was to create very illustrative implementation of PDC in graphical programming language LabVIEW. Described solution can be used in real transmission systems or because of graphical code clarity it can solve as a teaching tool to understand a visualize functionality. Phasor Data Concentrator receives data streams from two or more Phasor Measurement Units (PMU), synchronizes data streams and provides output data stream with defined reporting rate. Features of the PMU for the synchrophasor measurements and a description of data communication protocol defines IEEE Std C37.118.2 (Standard for Synchrophasor Data Transfer for Power Systems). The phasor data concentrator is a system that is used to manage process and respond to dynamic changes in phasor data streams.
