Prediction of power output by models based on fuzzy systems

  • Original language description

The installed power of the renewable energy sources (mostly wind and solar power plants) has in the recent few years increased all over the world. In connection with the amount of installed power of instable power sources all round the world, it becomesnecessary to forecast the availability of active power to be supplied by the solar and wind power plants within a given time period because the active power availability is one of the necessary inputs for the preparation of the operation of power networks. Various tasks in this area are hard optimization problems. As such, they can be effectively addressed using soft computing methods. In this paper we present results obtained by artificial intelligence methods applied to short time solar and wind powerprediction. The methods based on bio-inspired computation and fuzzy systems were applied in this study.
