Original language description
This paper deals with the measurement of temperature and concentration of toxic gases at mining dumps Ema and Hedvika in Ostravian region of the Czech Republic. These mining dumps are affected by endogenous fires resulting in higher thermal activity andproduction of poisonous fume gases such as carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. Deployment of wireless sensor network supplements current variant of solution regarding data transfer from the sensor towards data concentrator by means of cablings. This requirement is determined by the need of unpredictable conditions of thermal field distribution or other phenomena at a given location.
