    The Simulation of Connection of the Induction Generator to Grid Using the d-q Coordinate Frame Model

    This paper is focused on the simulation of direct connection of induction generator to the medium voltage grid (further referred as MVG) using the d-q model. The referred generator is under operation at the small hydro - power plant Slezská Harta. The major problem analyzed in the paper is the evaluation of high surge impact current during the direct connection of the 3MW generator to MVG. The main aim of this paper is an estimation of the current surge impact by the simulation and its dependence on thesystem's parameters. This estimation is important for following solution of surge current elimination by using of impedances, thyristor based soft-start and converters.
