Hybrid Energy System with Hydrogen Technology in Connection with PV Power Plant
Original language description
This paper deals with the concept of a hybrid hydrogen storage system to be linked with a typical photovoltaic (PV) power plant with the installed capacity of 40 kWp the output of which is run via the transformer rated 0.4/22 kV into the power distribution grid. The purpose of the system is to ensure storage of surplus electric power produced by the PV power plant during sunny days and its subsequent supply into the grid in evening hours to keep the resultant electric power supply during the day as constant as possible. The primary storage fluid employed here is the hydrogen produced by electrolysis. Short-term drops of power from the PV power plant are covered by means of back-up Li-ion batteries, necessary to maintain continuous operation of the hydrogen equipment.
