The paper presents results of experimental measurements performed on the main drive of a saw using for division of mill products, an analysis of the drive disturbance and an assessment of electrical energy quality at the point of connection of the saw adjustable speed drive. This paper also provides a comparison of levels of monitored voltage total harmonic distortion THD and voltage harmonics obtained by the measurements to their compatibility levels stated in the standard ČSN EN 61000-2-4 ed. 2. The performed measurements showed high levels of voltage distortion. So in this paper a simulation is also done for a possibility of using broadband passive harmonic filter to improve quality of drive supply voltage. The results show its significant impact onimproving quality of drawn current by the drive and supply voltage at the point of its connection. In the case the decreased voltage distortion is required, the application of this broadband passive harmonic filter could be recommended.
