    Application of optimized deterministic methods in long-term power quality

  • Original language description

    The increase of semiconductor based electronics and nonlinear loads adds to the importance of power quality. Continuous power quality monitoring is required to detect, record and prevent power quality problems. Power quality issues may effect end users, lifespan of equipment, electricity distributors and general public. This paper reviews power quality parameters, data analysis methods such as data mining and expert system. The current progress of data analysis methods in power quality data had been reviewed. The obtained knowledge was applied to develop a comprehensive power quality software. The software performance and accuracy was tested with data collected from a medium voltage power system.
