Original language description
The paper deals with fires caused by electrical conductors placed on or near flammable materials. Our homes and accommodation facilities are equipped with many wooden or wood-based objects and a lot of electrical conductors. Paper is focused on the initiation of fire from electric installations which are located in the most common materials such as wood, laminate, chipboard, carpet and upholstery of armchair. The aim is to show how the tested materials behave when exposed to an electric initiator. The results of such experiment are particularly useful for fire investigators. A simple test system for overloading is proposed. A wire resistance as temperature indicator prove most suitable for ignition point determining. (C) 2022 IEEE.
