The final conference of the ALBATTS (Alliance for Batteries Technology, Training and Skills) project marked the culmination of a multi-year effort to support the development of a skilled workforce for the European battery value chain. Held in 2023, the event gathered industry leaders, policymakers, education providers, and stakeholders to present the project’s results, including skills intelligence, occupational profiles, and training recommendations.Key Highlights:- Presentation of the Battery Skills Strategy and roadmap for future upskilling and reskilling.- Discussion of sectoral cooperation under the Pact for Skills and alignment with the European Green Deal and industrial strategy.- Showcasing best practices and collaboration models with industry and VET providers.Significance: The conference emphasized the critical role of skills development in enabling Europe’s green and digital transitions, especially in the fast-growing battery ecosystem. It reinforced the importance of sectoral partnerships, continuous learning, and future-proof training systems to ensure Europe’s competitiveness in sustainable mobility and energy.The event took place 9th April 2024 from 8:30 - 17:00 in Brussels.
