Mobility of tectonic zones in the northern part of the Moravosilesian region and their earthquake activity

Result description

The geodynamical network SUDETEN with ten sites in the Czech territory and seven sites in the Polish territory was established in 1997. Three GPS campaigns were realised at this network in the years 1997, 1998 and 1999. The GPS receivers Ashtech Z-12 monitoring satellite signals of the American system NA VST AR GPS were used for the determination of absolute positions of the sites. Data obtained during GPS measurements were processed with the software Bemese 4.2. RMS errors in the determination of the horizontal coordinates did not exceed 2 millimetres and of the vertical coordinates 5-6 millimetres. After three campaigns it was possible three geodynamical terrains to be identified in the northem part of the Moravo-Silesian region. Two seismic stationswere installed in Hradec nad Moravicl (HRMC) and in Zlaté Hory (ZLHC) in 1997 .Due to the shut down of all operations in mine in Zlaté Hory the seismic station was moved to Žáry near Město Albrechtice (ZARC) in 1998.
