    Recovery of Germanium from Brown Coal Fly Ash

    The recovery methods of GeCl4 -intermediate compounds of Ge production from fly ash obtained from combustion of domestic brown coal were examined on a laboratory scale and compared with each other: a direct distillation of GeCl4 from suspension of fly ash in concentrated HCl using an inert gas and/or chlorine as a carrier gas, leaching fly ash in dilute H2SO4, followed by tannin precipitation and GeCl4 from suspension of fly ash in concentrated HCl using a rectification column packed with copper turnings under passing an inert gas.
