The Investigation on the Flotation of Coal from Mine Staczicz (Poland)
Original language description
Coal flotation deals with separation of most fine fractions of mined coal, that originate by abrasion and disintegration during its mining and processing. Practically flotation is used only for coking coal processing. Coal floatability depends on its coalification degrese and is connected with non-polar character of its surface. Different flotation activity provides for selective flotation of polished constituents from dull ones. Vitrite and clarite have pronounced floatability, what is expressed with shorter flotation time comparing with fusinite and durite. This paper is concerning floatability of black coal from Staszicz Mine (Poland) using Flotalex and Montanol collectors. The goal of the work was to verify floatability of mentioned black coal as well as selectivity of flotation collectors. These collectors are generally used in coal preparation plants in Czech republic and Poland.
