    Amorphous Co66Fe4B15Si15 ribbons field annealed in air atmosphere are known to exhibit highly asymmetric GMI effect, also known as GMI valve [1]. The asymmetry originates from the exchange coupling of the soft magnetic amorphous material with a hard crystalline phase which develops on the ribbon surface during annealing.In this paper we investigate the influence of combination of magnetic field and stress during annealing on the asymmetric GMI. The magnetoimpedance is measured in the frequency range 0.1- 30 MHz. The fluxmeter and MOKE are used to investigate the bulk and surface hysteresis properties, respectively. The combined heat treatment produces hard ribbon axis anisotropy in the amorphous phase and easy axis anisotropy in the crystalline phase.Both anisotropies can be changed by the annealing conditions and by applied stress. Because of positive magnetostriction constant (lambda_s= 1.9 x 10^-7) easy ribbon axis anisotropy in the amorphous phase is obtained by applying tensile
