Research on energy characteristics of rocks is done under dynamic (cyclic) loading by using the test device MTS 816 Rock Test System. On the basis of records of time, force and deformation in the mode "peak-valley" in the course of testing, it is possible to evaluate various strength, strain and energy characteristics of mechanic loading. On the test device such requirements are set that this device works with maximum output. In the course of the test, the required frequency of load reversals is fully maintained. With reference to the limited capacity of hydraulic system, the amplitude of dynamic (cyclic) loading is limited for a certain frequency. In some tests the temperature changes were measured. Particular tests took place at various frequencies.The tests were carried out under compression load, shear load and rheological mode.
