The paper is analyzing the possibility of the application of the magnetohydrodynamic effect in the high-energy waterjet technology. The summary of the basic physical equations simplified for the stationary liquid flow is followed by four basic ways of interaction between the flowing liquid and electromagnetic field: electromagnetic brake, magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) power generator, flow meter and electromagnetic pump.
