Original language description
The paper deals with potential utilization of metallurgical waste as pigments suitable for dyeing of concrete composites. Two types of waste were studied, i.e. red mud from Birač Alumina Industry plant in Eastern Bosnia and converter mud from Třinecké Železárny, a.s. in the Czech Republic. The technology of bacterial leaching was used, applying pure bacteria of Acidithiobacillus ferroxidans combined with calcination. Then, the samples were ground and tested as dyes for concrete composites. The results of the paper show that the technology is suitable for the purpose in question.
