Original language description
The paper deals with verification of biodegradation of sludge from the Central Sewage Treatment Plant of the Ostrava City. A concentration of PCBs was assayed in sampled sludge. Consequently, the samples were subjected to biodegradation using pure bacterial cultures of Pseudomonas putida and Rhodococcus sp. as well as their mixtures. The experiment lasted for 28 days. The obtained results have been compared with the permissible limits introduced in the Regulation No. 294/2005 Coll. on waste disposal indumps and waste application on the ground surface.
