Currently the increasing prices of food and energy are under discussion. It is perfectly obvious because the rise in prices instantly reflects on family budgets. As such it is the first part of this paper which considers energy price development, EU environmental taxes, and the planned target of the tax reform in the Czech Republic. The second part of the paper has focused on opinions of those who had been addressed. Finally the third part summarises and works out the results of the research.
