Original language description
The paper deals with measuring the magnetism of the metabolic products of Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans bacteria that come from acid mine water accompanying mining and processing of mineral resources. The aim of the paper is to characterize the precipitates produced by the bacteria by means of magnetic quantities using a Vibrating Sample Magnetometer (VSM), which helps to identify the magnetization of substances in dependence on the external magnetic field. The results are related to the metabolic activity and vitality of the bacteria.
