Chapter summarizes author´s experience with environmental impact assessment of wind farms. The first part of chapter deals with the history and development of wind power utilization in the world and in the Czech Republic and with the technology of the existing wind turbines. Next part of chapter is dedicated to the environmental impacts of wind farms. The final part of chapter deals with experience with implementation of the environmental impact assessment process in the field of wind power in the CzechRepublic.
