Problems of cooling sealed fire fields in underground coal mines
Original language description
The paper deals with the questions related to the cooling of sealed fire field in underground coal mines. Based on the current mining practice in the Czech Republic the paper subject is oriented into the area of fire fields of inaccessible endogenous mine fires in retreat longwall gobs and ventilated prior to their sealing by the U-system of through-circulating air current. Poorly cooled centres of this type of fires represent in their re-contact with atmospheric oxygen in an accessible fire field a potential danger of fire restoration. In order to cool successfully the sealed fire fields in underground coal mines it is therefore necessary to lay down such technical measures, which ?unseal? the fire field, i.e. allow the mine air exchange between the fire field and adjacent mine workings, or increase the energy exchange through the construction of explosion-proof dams.
