This document makes a short report from the ongoing project of application the ultra high frequency (UHF) radiofrequency identification (RFID) technologies into the field of gun management. This project is managed by the ILAB RFID ? International RFID Laboratory at the VŠB-Technical University Ostrava. Objectives of the research are to realize essential tests and necessary analyses that are required for the proper design of the newly created gun management system for the Police of the Czech Republic. Current tasks lie in the analysis of the processes that will be automated and in the definition of the optimal parameters of the UHF transponder, its location and the method of attachment to the body of the gun.
