Original language description
The contribution deals with the satisfaction of safety conditions by reducing the high quantity of emitted methane using the degasification methods during the mining of coking coal at faces in the Paskov Mine in the Czech Republic. Methane-air mixtures represent a serious problem in coal mining. The problem consists in a risk of high concentrations of methane emitted from coal being disintegrated; the concentrations may exceed the permissible level. Thus, an explosive atmosphere may be produced as well.This safety risk leads to both increased costs of mining and losses of time in the mining process. The article informs about an engineering solution for the use of degasification method at selected longwall face with a high gas emission rate in the Paskov Mine, OKD, a.s.
