Possibilities of Early Detection of Spontaneous Combustion of Coal in Mines and Coal Stockpiles
Original language description
One of very major risks associated with coal mining, transport and storage is the spontaneous combustion of the coal substance. The spontaneous combustion of the coal substance is a frequent phenomenon in brown coal opencast mines containing seams affected by previous underground mining operations, in homogenisation and other stockpiles, and in stockpiles at electric power and heat plants and brown coal combustion companies. The submitted article is aimed at providing brief information to readers aboutthe progress of works in the framework of the ALFA Programme project No. TA01020351, which deals with the research into, development and verification of an overall comprehensive method of early identification of a beginning irreversible state of the early stage of brown coal spontaneous combustion leading to the ignition (fire) of the coal substance. The main objective of the project is the finding of a method for early predicting the process of spontaneous combustion in the case of brow
