Research on Indicator gases of Brown Coal Spontaneous Heating
Original language description
In the course of coal mining we often meet a risk of spontaneous heating and subsequent occurrence of open endogenous fires. The seat of coal auto-oxidation can be identified early using three methods, namely direct observation, thermometry and gasometry. The article deals with selected aspects of gasometry in relation to characteristic indicator gases of brown coal spontaneous heating. It contains information on a laboratory method of thermal oxidation of coal samples, gas image of gases desorbed in the course of action of heat on brown coal, characteristic laboratory-verified indicator gases of spontaneous heating obtained in the framework of previous research done by the workplace concerned, and prospects for in situ research on gases desorbed frombrown coal spoil heaps.
