Water treatment and water supply
Original language description
Water supply engineering is a large and growing field of engineering. Until the second half of the twentieth century the system was rather a simple field. Water was abstracted from the sources or from reservoir and after minimal treatment was put into the distribution systems. The major concern during most of the twentieth century was to meet the ever-increasing demand for water. This was driven both by a steady increase in population served and by increasing per capita demand as consumers became even more affluent and aquired indoor toilets, baths, washing machines etc. The pollution of water sources is developed by industry, agriculture and other polluters. Based on above mentioned fact the general quality of raw water was rapidly decreasing. Presentwater quality standards have a lot parameters which are very strict to avoid to develop new water treatment methods and technique which are technically very pretensious and expensive. Be complaints about that it is generally accepted it
