VERIFICATION OF THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTRACTING SILVER CONCENTRATE FROM WASTE AFTER PROCESSING SILVER ORE BY FLOTATION

  • Original language description

This article deals with metallurgical waste after metallurgical activity, specifically it focuses on using flotation for extracting silver concentrates from dump pile slag after processing silver ores in Kutná Hora region in the last century. Slug samples with silver content were crushed, ground to a grain size class 0 - 0.071 mm and part was also subjected to segregational roasting. The results of the analysis showed that using basic flotation under specified conditions can increase concentration of silver from 124 ppm to about 250 ppm in content which is approximately double. According to calculations of recovery, still almost 50% silver remains in the waste. Basic flotation under the specified conditions are not sufficiently effective and flotationprocess is necessary to optimize or add other mineral processing method.
