Original language description

The book works on the assumption that the problems with the underground mining of hard coal in the Czech Republic and in Ukraine are very similar from the points of view of natural conditions, the development of ownership relations and the management ofthe coal industry in the past. The similarity on the organizational and technical aspects of restructuring means that it is possible to expect similar problems connected with the stoppage of mining and the liquidation of deep coal mines. These problems have a safety and environmental character and are connected especially with the outlet of mine gases to the surface, the flooding of mines, and surface subsidence. The publication deals with coal industry restructuring mainly from point of view of mines closure and its subsequent problems.
