    The Properties of Vermicomposts Made from Biowaste

  • Original language description

    The article deals with a possible application of biodegradable wastes by means of vermicomposting. Biodegradable waste in any waste which decomposes in an aerobic or anaerobic manner. Its exploitation has, inter alia, environmental reasons. Vermicomposting makes use of special earthworm species´ capacities to convert plant residues into a high-quality organic fertiliser, i.e. vermicompost, which is the product of their metabolism. The experiments focus on the processing of particular problematic biowastes via vermicomposting. In addition, the properties of the produced vermicomposts from the biowastes in question were analysed.
