Threatment of mine water from coal minig area
Original language description
The aim of this work is the treatment of mine water from brown coal mining activity, with a focus on obtain the water quality containing dissolved substances under 0,5 g.l-1 and reduces the waste generated during the treatment of these waters. The chemical analysis showed higher concentrations of Ca2+, Mg2+ and SO42- ions, turbidity and increased concentrations of Fe and Mn ions. The treatment of mine water was solved with utilization by membrane technology specifically electrodialysis (ED). This technology does not load the treatment process with others chemicals. Tests were conducted on a laboratory unit EDR- Z 10/0.8 in batch mode. Research was focused on the determination of specifications and operating parameters for the maximum of desalination rate. The results show that electrodialysis is suitable for treatment of mine water, with 90 % contaminant removal efficiencies.
