RESEARCH COMPARISON OF FOAM SEPARATION AND FLOTATION OF COAL.
Original language description
The work builds on long-term research foam separation at VSB - TU Ostrava. Foam separation is one of the ways of flotation of raw materials. During flotation hydrophobic particles are carried away by air bubbles to the surface skins. Creating complex particle - bubble occurs when the volume of conventional flotation in difficult conditions, and the process of concentration are significantly slower compared to foam separation. When foam separation is agitated feedstock served tangentially to form the foam layer. In the foam layer the conditions are favourable for trapping hydrophobic particles. This change allows a significant reduction in the time needed to disassociate charge in a foam separator. During laboratory experiments there were performed comparing of foam separation and flotation same sample of coal from the mine Paskov. Experiments were performed with coal suitable for coking the same grain size and the same flotation reagents based on mineral oils was used for both methods.
